My new mobile blogging workflow

Just got my new iPod Touch 32G (2nd Gen). Couldn't be more pleased. As usual it just works,

Trying to see about using a blogging application called MacJournal

In an effort to increase productivity I am looking at several options for journal and blogging entry.

Apple has done it again...

Apple has cost my kids more of there education fund. Just kidding, I can't buy these but I'm tempted. Anyway the iPhone won't be in Asia till 2008, but if I save 50 NTD per day maybe I could buy one, that means no Zun Ju Nai Cha for almost a year and a half?????? & no Starbucks (at my once a month meeting), Walk instead of scooter (allow extra hour travel time for some events), I'll have to think what else I can shave off the budget, maybe Caleb can go without diapers now, or maybe learn how to use the eBay here and sell all Calebs toys. Well that about does it for my fantasy, but seriously this is THE phone for me. Won't go into it, if it doesn't excite you that's okay. Ted Kau and John Wu took me to the UC Irvine Bookstore and introduced me to the Mac in 1984 when it was first introduced, went home and asked if I could borrow part of the money needed from parents and went back and bought it. I had pneumonia for a few months and used that time to learn it, what a joy and have ever since. And am I happy I didn't have to go the PC route.I want this for my new job to add range. the current set up barely gets thirty meters ( ) in most place and less in others, but it would be an add-on because I would have to upgrade the computers and that would take a year or so, if I could do it at all. I have to wait almost two years for a new computer so maybe I wait, I need to think on this and see if I can swing something, maybe my current Powerbook could add it to the PCMCI, have to wait for someone to make this card.

As for the Apple TV I will seriously consider this when I go back to the States, this March. I really like watching on the TV the TV shows and even the Video podcasts, so to not have to hook up the Powerbook each time would be convenient as well as more versatile. I could have the less on my Powerbook and spread the Shows around to the other macs.

Anyway this is my first take I will continue to see what happens at WWDC 2007.

My trip to the States is becoming complicated. I hope I can borrow a laptop, in particular an iBook but those Macbooks look pretty good for the price. I know pretty stupid and it would be reneging on my promise to my wife to wait two and a half years (from Oct 2006) before buying a new one, but...
On the trip to the States I will be taking pictures and will need to download to something? I don't want to use my mom's HP, it probably has virus anyway and not working. ohh the dilemmas aof technology, I suppose I could take all my SD cards along and fill them up, but a month in the States is a long time. I was even thinking about a refurbished Apple Mac, there is some good prices on quite a few good choices. BUT I really need to wait for the January announcements. I still might be tempted to buy an iPhone, well not theonefrom Cisco. An Apple phone with good PIM, Camera (2MP+) and iTunes would be hard to resist, but my wife has raised her eye about any big purchase like that since my current phone (SE T610) hasn't died.

Oh, don't let there be any cool new stuff..

When I bought my new Canon 400D/XTi I promised my wife I would not buy a new Mac for another two and a half years. Okay, I was insane but I really want to learn Photography and use my Mac too. So far even with the after Thanksgiving sale and new announcements the last few months I have nothing to regret. Though I have fear and trepidation with the January - February announcements we usually have to look forward to.

Money is tight so if I see something it has to fit into a real need. With a new job change coming next year April and less pay I have to be careful with my enthusiasm and spending. This will be one January - February that I hope the announcements, beside Leopard which technically is not a computer so I can buy, are dull and unneeded. But I probably will be unheeded and something really useful and 'needed; will be announced.

This musing is not going as well as I had hoped. I have a headache because my son woke me up at 5 AM and all the great things I had in my head last night are gone so until next time.

as well as uploading photos. I'm a Mac user and still trying to find a tool that is best for my usage and abilities. Kinda interesting the choices. You really have to keep up with what is out there but also either be lucky in your choices or be able to switch with no regrets.
